RE-PLAY

The 2nd Annual Spartan 5K will be donating to RE-PLAY.

Keeping Kids in the Game

http://www.replaysj.org/

RE-PLAY, in the simple effort to add to the usable life of available resources, seeks to benefit and initiate positive change in our local communities and educational institutions by instilling hope, energy and enrichment for a new generation throughout their formative years.

While facilitating the core principles of a green lifestyle, by reusing, recycling, and reducing shelved items, RE-PLAY is cultivating creativity, wellness and an active lifestyle among underrepresented districts whose needs may otherwise go unmet. It is through this philanthropic endeavor that the full potential of our greatest resource, our youth, may be realized.

What does that all mean? . . .

Basically, we are generating two lists:

List A: schools, community groups, sports clubs, under serviced organizations in-need of sporting equipment.

List B: groups and schools etc., that have equipment not being used or wanting to get rid of. Our website is designed to facilitate the exchange of these goods.

1. An open “exchange” of sport goods and equipment between groups that have and those that require.

2. A direct link to companies looking to supply or sponsor the purchase of “new” equipment needed by schools on the list.

3. A repository for used equipment to be sent to a country “in-need” such as Haiti.

4. A site to collect and recycle certain sporting goods that are no longer useful for their intended purpose—(e.g., old tennis balls that can be used on the bottom of chair and desk legs in schools to create quieter environments).
